We went to tokyo for 6 nights, hakone for 1 night (would say it is potentially skippable, as seeing fuji not guaranteed and its very touristy), kyoto 4 nights (with day trip to nara), 2 nights in. If so, there are lots of fantastic international destinations you can travel to that are cheaper.
